Moving on from a Loss

A terrible accident claimed the life of my wife a year ago. I was heartbroken, devastated, and nearly lost the will to go on. I wanted to be beside my wife in heaven, but I just couldn’t muster up the will to end it all. My friends also played a part in stopping me from taking my own life. They got one of the escorts in Las Vegas Nevada to go out on some dates with me. Initially, I was mad that they had arranged for someone to go out with me, but that changed over time.

My friends had to convince me that it was fine for me to move on and see other people. I told them that it was too soon, and they told me that I would always say that it was too soon, right up until the day I’m laying on my death bed. I knew that they had a point, but I really didn’t want to admit it. Still, they were able to talk me into going on the dates with the escorts, even though I was still against it.

On the first date with the escort, things went pretty well. There was a bit of a slow start because of my reluctance to be with anyone else but my wife, but as the night went on, I began to open up and was actually having fun. On the second date, I was more comfortable around the escort and we were joking and laughing around as if we had known each other for years. She had broken through my defenses and we were having a great time. On the third date, we were getting intimate, and I didn’t mind. I even took off the wedding ring that I had been wearing since my wife died.
